1. Production Coordinator
Job Purpose
Under the direction of the Production Manager, the Production Coordinator will coordinate with vendors and interdepartmental teams to ensure a smooth and efficient production process.
Deliverables:
Follow-up with vendors to ensure that development and production samples are executed correctly and timely
Communicate daily with overseas offices and vendors to track development and production status
Negotiate and confirm final production costs with vendors according to management approval
Prepare and submit prototype samples for weekly buying reviews
Review and follow designers’ tech pack instructions to execute production development
Coordinate with designers, buyers, and fit technicians to ensure all production requirements, such as colors, trims, fabric quality, and fit are met
Provide the Logistics department with shipping documents, TOP (Top of Production) approvals, and vendor shipping confirmation for prompt delivery
Communicate with vendors/factories to ensure letters of credit, payment related documents, production sample delivery, development items, shipping documents, and cost sheets are completed accurately and on-time
Review development items with Production Manager before sending items to vendors
Ensure trim sheets and sewing details are provided to factories according to the time and action calendar
Skills and Qualifications :
BFA or BA in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or related field preferred
Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
Must have 2-3+ years of production experience
Bilingual in Korean or Chinese preferred
Basic understanding of garment construction as well as technical knowledge of production preferred
Basic understanding of fabric types and costing requirements of garments preferred
Must be proactive and possess the ability to meet tight deadlines
Must have exceptional organizational skills
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must have strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Must be able and willing to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., perform frequent repetitive finger, hand and wrist motions, as well as bending, stooping, reaching, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling
2. Production Assistant
Job Purpose:
The Production Assistant will be responsible for providing administrative support to the team by relaying correspondence to and from vendors, tracking current and new orders, and maintaining development data.
Deliverables:
Communicate with vendors new POs (purchase orders) and revisions to existing POs
Ensure all information from POs are correctly created or revised
Submit letters of credit and shipping authorization request forms
Create trim sheets and sewing details for Supervisor’s approval; Ensure both items are provided to factories according to the time and action calendar
Submit revised/updated purchase orders to the PO department; Follow-up on PO status
Submit all required TOP documents for QC (Quality Control) approval
Skills and Qualifications :
BFA or BA in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or related field preferred
Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
Preferred to have administrative and/or production experience
Must be able to effectively communicate with Supervisors and vendors on a regular basis (written and verbal)
Must be organized in order to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Must be able and willing to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., perform frequent repetitive finger, hand and wrist motions, as well as bending, stooping, reaching, squatting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling
3. Fit Technician
Job Purpose:
The Fit Technician is responsible for examining and measuring proto, fit, and top-of-production samples to ensure accurate execution of requested measurements, quality, construction, and overall fit of Forever 21 merchandise.
Deliverables:
Compile information on all garment components including fit, fabric, construction, stitch, and trim into fit comment documents
Accurately measure garments to identify any fit issues
Collaborate with vendors on fit construction and problem-solve current and/or potential fit issues to avoid any inconsistencies in fit
Execute fit comments in a timely manner to ensure fit process stays in line with production and action timelines
Provide call-outs and critiques during fittings to verify that all issues are identified
Take detailed notes at all product fittings and clearly communicate all fit components to vendors
May approve samples to proceed to the production phase after a thorough evaluation of fit, measurement, pattern shaping, hanger appeal, and functionality
Issue grading guidelines to vendors after fit approval to ensure quality is kept consistent for the entirety of the production phase
Skills and Qualifications :
Must have a high school diploma; Associates or Bachelor’s degree in fashion preferred
Must have 3-5 years of experience as a Fit Technician; knowledge of patternmaking preferred
Must have technical experience with multiple product classifications
Must possess a keen eye to identify fit issues and recommend solutions
Must have a strong understanding of garment construction and fabric types
Must have a basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Experience using Web PDM is a plus
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be willing to work in a fast-paced fashion environment
