Basic Function: Under the supervision of the Fiscal Manager, the Accounting Clerk assists in the day-to-day businessoperations of the Fiscal Department. This is an at-will, part-time position that consists of 20 hours perweek.


Responsibilities:

1. Conduct day-to-day processing of Accounts Receivable and Payable;

2. Process Cash Receipt information prior to entry into the General Ledger;

3. Prepare Accounts Payable Requisitions;

4. Allocate bills to appropriate programs prior to processing;

5. Pre-audit and sort Credit Card expenses prior to entry into the General Ledger;

6. Assist in proper preparation of all standard and adjusting journal entries;

7. Assist in the allocation of expenses to different cost centers;

8. Prepare Workforce Investment Act (WIA) monthly financial reports;

9. Assist in periodic closing of computerized General Ledger;

10. Maintain Cash Receipts, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable ledgers;

11. Assist in the preparation for fiscal audits, financial statements, and other reports as needed;

12. Maintain and update agency financial files including Program Monthly Billings and Check Deposits 

13. Other Duties as assigned by the Fiscal Manager.


Required Education & Training:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited university or college;

2. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English;

3. Excellent attention to detail and very organized work habits;

4. Proficient and competent in the use of QuickBooks, Excel, Power Point, other computer programs,and office equipment

5. Must have a valid California driver’s license, excellent driving record, and auto insurance.


Preferred Education & Training:

1. Experience in full charge accounting and month-end closing process and procedures  

2. Experience with non-profit fund accounting principles; 

3. Experience in budget preparation, reporting, and grant management at a community based non-profitagency 

4. Bilingual in Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, or Spanish
