Primary Responsibilities: Coordinate with vendors and interdepartmental teams the facilitate the production process Coordinate the procurement of major goods and services in the most cost effective and timely manner, ensuring quality and on-time delivery consistent with company standards Responsible for the timely delivery of purchase order release to the chosen supplier Anticipate product needs, source vendors and purchase all necessary products Make purchasing decisions based current inventory and sales expectations Demonstrated knowledge of purchasing processes and related systems, logistics, and asset management Develop strong relationships with factories and suppliers in order to ensure cost and delivery objectives are met Effectively communicate with designers and buyers for sourcing needs and questions and issues arising in the course of product development Communicate daily with overseas offices and vendors to track development and production statuses Follow-up with vendors to ensure that development and production samples are executed correctly and timely Negotiate product quality, purchase quantity, landed cost, and delivery with vendors Continually identify and determine optimum sources of supply, establish back up suppliers for all critical materials
Required Qualifications: Bilingual in English and fluent Mandarin 2+ years of previous buying experience 2+ years of previous experience sourcing from China and working directly with factories A post-secondary education Remarkable problem solving skills Ability to work well in a team environment Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Exceptional organizational, analytical skills, keen eye for details Great computer skills Detail-oriented, self-motivated and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment High sense of urgency/initiative
