The Delivery Dispatcher coordinates, schedules and dispatches our delivery drivers to meet all business demands efficiently without sacrificing customer service and safety. The individual is expected to oversee supervision and training for our drivers and packers to ensure that the proper skills and procedures have been taught and followed, to ensure our delivery operation runs smoothly. This position also includes performing other operational and clerical tasks. RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

  • Oversee (lead, hire, train, develop) a team of delivery drivers and packers to effectively operate delivery service

  • Ensure all orders are accurately fulfilled, and delivery routes with proper instructions are prepared for drivers

  • Identify and accommodate special instructions from customers

  • Calculate appropriate lead time for drivers to arrive to destinations, factoring in variables such as traffic conditions, weather, road closures, special instructions, etc.

  • Support and assist drivers with directions, traffic advisories, and delays

  • Maintain timely communication with customers, drivers, and other departments within company

  • Effectively handle vehicle and equipment maintenance/repairs

  • Perform other duties as assigned (i.e. support team with packing and load)

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2+ years of dispatching/coordinating experience required

  • Sufficient knowledge of the Bay Area and its directions required

  • Delivery driving experience required

  • Exceptional interpersonal, phone and customer service skills; ability to build and maintain positive relationships with staff and customers

  • Ability to effectively communicate and delegate tasks to appropriate team members

  • Decisive problem-solver who is results-oriented with a proactive and can-do attitude

  • Works well under pressure in a fast paced environment with the ability to adapt to change

  • Solid understanding and use of computer basics (Windows, Office, Email, and Internet)

  • Flexibility to work weekends and holidays

  • Must be legally allowed to work in the U.S.

COMPENSATIONS & BENEFITS

  • Starting salary is $35,000 - $40,000 based on experience

  • Benefits package including: health (medical, dental, vision) insurance, PTO, paid holidays, and 401(k) with company match
