Aerohive Networks is seeking a Sr. Dev Ops Engineer in Sunnyvale, CA. If you have database management experience, understand cloud service infrastructure, interested in resolving complex production issues, and also want to participate in cutting edge cloud technology projects like auto deployment, auto scaling and big data management, etc. then this DevOps opening is a perfect position for you.
Requirements:
A degree in computer science or a related field
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience troubleshooting complex applications and databases related issues as part of a development/ operations department
Good knowledge of PostgreSQL or MySQL database management.
Knowledge of Linux systems and applications including Tomcat, Nginx, RabbitMQ
Experience with Ruby, Json & Chef Auto deployment is preferred
Experience with Python, Perl, or shell scripting
Experience with Hadoop and HBase is preferred
Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Ganglia preferred)
Previous experience working in a 24 x 7 Internet-oriented production environment
Strong follow-through and initiative to stay with issues until they are resolved, along with discipline and tenacity to meet deadlines
A positive can-do attitude and the ability to take yourself, the team, and the product to the corresponding next levels of quality and success on a relentless basis
Fluent in Mandarin Chinese is required
Manage and maintain production databases and big data platform
Troubleshoot and follow up on production infrastructure / application related issues
Monitor and maintain Aerohive Cloud service infrastructure
Provide 24 x 7 cloud service operations support with remote operations team
(No need to work overnight! 3 days during Monday – Friday, 1 day during Saturday – Sunday)
Proactive monitoring of production systems with a sense of urgency when issues arise
Participate in system deployment and verification automation
Participate in system design, implementation, deployment and maintenance as part of our DevOps (Development Operations) team
Communicate with Engineering / QA departments as well as external carriers to resolve and prevent issues
Thorough documentation of incident and problem details in near real-time
Ensure SLA’s are met
Maintain and update SOP documents, including support guides, knowledge base articles and procedures
Other tasks as needed to support Production, Dev, and QA environment
issues and hardware and/or software defects
Other tasks as assigned by SE leadership
