Provides security and safety of art collection, property, visitors and staff. Observes, detects, reports and responds to threats and/or hazards including, but not limited to, property damage, vandalism, fires, emergency incidents and medical emergencies. May patrol on foot, drive Getty vehicles, stand post in galleries or exterior site posts, perform traffic control duties, or other security responsibilities as needed. Provides excellent customer service. Maintains a professional appearance and manner in keeping with the Getty's desired image.
Responsilbities
Applies knowledge of security and fire/life/safety procedures to assignments of varying complexity
Ensures the safety of Getty staff and visitors
Ensures the security of Getty collection and property
Operates, monitors and responds to security, fire/life/safety and other systems
May complete security logs, reports and other documentation
May drive Getty vehicles in the course of patrol duties, shuttle driving, emergencies or other situations as required including escorting and picking up and delivery of artworks in the regional area
Controls staff and visitor access to secured areas; issues and collects keys, radios and security equipment
May periodically provide guidance and oversee the work activities of associate and intermediate support personnel
Communicates effectively on radio and in person
Responds and assists in emergency situations
Stays current on all departmental policies and procedures and follows all departmental communication
May perform traffic control duties as needed
Qualifications
High School/GED
A valid California Drivers license with less than 3 DMV points
Class B license is a plus
1-2 years experience in Security, Customer Service, Military or Law Enforcement
Knowledge & Skills
Performs standard support functions
Applies knowledge of policies, practices, trends and information to assignments of moderate complexity
Fluent in other languages a plus
Excellent communication skills
