Data Consultant-Regulatory Support
The purpose of this role is to provide day to day support for Premier hospital and eligible professional regulatory programs, including but not limited to Inpatient Quality Reporting, Meaningful Use, Physician Quality Reporting System, and Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS). This position works cross-functionally with Quality & Regulatory Operations and Quality & Regulatory Application Development to ensure the operational needs of Premier regulatory program are met.
Specific responsibilities include understanding the technical requirements for submitting to various regulatory programs and educating the greater Premier team, assessing data quality of data being prepared for submission, completing member readiness assessments for regulatory initiatives, supporting complex member issues related to meeting regulatory programs, and accurately submitting member data to various hospital and eligible professional regulatory programs. The Consultant must maintain understanding of changing regulatory requirements, identify process improvement needs, and work with members of data management to automate processes as needed.
This position works in collaboration with members of the IT Production Services and Automation, Solution Center, IT Development and Quality Assurance teams, and Quality & Regulatory Operations.
Major Accountabilities:
Support Regulatory Submissions
•Complete uploads for various regulatory submissions, and document status for audits
•Investigate questionable data, resolve source of the issue
•Report issues and resolutions to necessary stakeholders
•Run variety of queries to ascertain integrity of data prior to releasing data for submission
•Perform quality assurance tests on hospital information (name, address, etc.)
•Ensure new facilities are properly set up for data submission including hospital profiling, and table updates
•Maintain back end systems that support regulatory submissions (member measure profiling, etc.)
•Conduct audits and complete administrative tasks that support requirements for participation in various regulatory programs (CMS and TJC feedback reports, data completeness tests, member data audits, etc.)
•Conduct data cleanups related to production issues that affect regulatory data
Custom Data Requests and Reporting
•Complete member Readiness Assessments for PQRS, eCQM, and other regulatory initiatives
•Develop automation to streamline Readiness Assessment creation, and enhance member deliverables
•Generate ad hoc report requests related to Quality Measures Reporter, Premier Registry, and other regulatory applications
Operations Support, Database Updates, Ad hoc queries, Meetings and Administrative Tasks
•Run variety of queries to ensure data integrity, and Access queries for customer deliverables as well as administrative processes in support of Informatics operations
•Perform daily routine administrative tasks (emails, phone calls, check requests, data orders, etc.)
•Attend meetings to discuss/resolve data integrity issues
•Provide support to projects that streamline internal processes and/or enhance value to business knowledge
•Assist with identification and communication of data cleanups to Operations following product releases.
Education & Experience Required:
•Bachelor’s degree required
•Area of Study:Healthcare informatics, computer science, industrial engineering, or related discipline
•Years of Experience: 1-2 years’ experience, 3 years preferred
•Type of Experience: Data analysis/data quality
•Healthcare focus preferred
