JOB DESCRIPTION
Our firm is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant who will report directly to the Vice President, Accounting and Finance. The Staff Accountant’s central role is to maintain books of financial records for our firm and its affiliates, including operating, escrow and investment accounts. CanAm’s client base is predominately from China and the Staff Accountant will support the Accounting department with all communication in Mandarin and English with existing investors and/or agents.
Ideal candidate must have a solid foundation in accounting principles, accounts payable, good at expenses analysis, extremely detail oriented, highly organized, ability to follow instructions and complete projects on time and ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline driven department.
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:
Bank Reconciliation
Assist and prepare reports with monthly and year end closing
Process and record all payments, incomes and journal entries into Quickbooks
Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
Ensure payment process in timely matter
Review, check and booking of corporate credit cards
Perform accounting analysis per ledger
Perform bank and cash movement
1099 annual filing
Maintain the petty cash fund
Monitor bank movement and cash flow out of Operating accounts and transfer funds
Assist with other projects as needed
Issue distribution checks to clients
Tax season (IRS filings on Partnerships)
Check for accuracy in figures, postings, and reports for Accounting Manager’s review
Follow accounting procedures closely.
Reconcile or note and report any differences found in the records.
Handle all administrative duties for the Accounting department (mail, copy, scan, general inquires, etc.)
Performs other essential duties as assigned from time to time by the Vice President, Accounting & Finance and/or Controller.

Education and Experience
Assoicate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting major
Fluent in Mandarin and English is a must
Minimum of 2 years of full-time bookkeeping and/or accounting associate experience, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger and financial reports.

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel to execute accounting functions & formulas. Microsoft Office product knowledge also required (Word, etc).
Intermediary or Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks. CanAm operates on Mac computers.
Prior experience working with databases preferred (Filemaker, etc).
Working knowledge of Mac computers.
Start Date : ASAP
Compensation: Starting salary is $45,000. Merit-based annual bonus provided to all employees. Excellent employee benefit package includes medical, dental, vision, term life insurance, Safe Harbor 401(K), paid time off and federal holidays.
