POSITION SUMMARY: The Business Development Specialist is responsible for increasing sales, customer retention and growing revenues of assigned accounts. She/he is also responsible for forecasting, market intelligence, customer relations, customer service, account profiling and setting the strategic direction for each customer account.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Direct the development of a customer retention plan for assigned accounts and be the number one customer retention advocate in the company
- Implement a customer loyalty plan
- Direct the collection and dissemination of information relating to industry trend, competitors and customer expectations for the company to effectively prepare for the changing market conditions
- Work in cooperation with the Sales Manager to provide a seamless working relationship for effective customer service and retention
- Contribute to the development of pricing strategies for products that are consistent with the stated goals of the company (including gross margin goals)
- Contribute to the development and implementation of an advertising and marketing plan for the organization and of the company’s/organization’s strategic direction and goals. Including; programs to assist in the achievement of organizational goals such as customer satisfaction, increased quality of products, on-time shipments, costs reductions and reduced cycle times
- Plan and attend industry trade shows
- Develop, implement and meet annual sales forecast broken down by months
- Ensure strong financial relationships between the company and their customers by managing the implementation of the company’s credit policy
- Provide weekly status updates regarding the customer base to the Sales Manager
- Assist in the preparation of the annual operating budget and capital expense plan
- Responsible for ensuring performance within the established budget and contributing towards the attainment of the targeted gross margin
- Actively pursue and participate in external activities that develop and maintain state-of-the-art thinking and planning capabilities within assigned areas of responsibility
- Be proficient in using internal systems for tracking revenue, entering orders and tracking the status of customer orders
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience in PCB Sales Manufacturing environment or demonstrated business development skills preferred
- Excellent customer service and follow-up skills with a sense of urgency
- Above average analytical and decision making skills
- Possess strong time management and organization skills
- Must exhibit professionalism, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to multi-task
- Ability to generate sales, strategically penetrate accounts, profile targeted customers and grow revenue
- Excellent verbal and written communications
- Must be available to travel when necessary
- Great computer skills; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and Sales Database
- Ability to perform at the highest level in a fast-paced environment.
