Job Description
International freight forwarder is looking for experienced, full time air/ocean import/export operations employee for freight shipments domestic and international.
Candidate should have strong communication skills, experience in customer service and a solid work ethic. Second language is a plus, but not required
Strong organizational skills with multi tasking needed
Customer Service is responsible for working both cooperatively with coworkers while maintaining a personalized service with clients.
Import Coordinator
Responsibilities and skills are to include but not limited to:
- Basic computer knowledge to include Outlook, Windows, spreadsheets, presentations, etc
- Have the ability to use basic math skills to calculate freight, storage, duty and other charges
- Arrange import shipments with carriers,overseas agents and offices as well as trucking companies while ensuring documentation is complete, accurate and in a timely manner
- Handles customer service requests relative to the transportation of cargo and costs
- Must be effective at listening, understanding and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by business clients and co-workers to focus on and resolve any disputes or issues
- Set up and maintain customer files and profiles, contacting customers to ensure ongoing satisfaction while updating shipment data, files, and reports with inbound/outbound transactions
- Evaluate and select proper course of action quickly to make sure deadlines are met
- Increase customer satisfaction and business share through proactive and regular contact.
- Assist with quotes by providing rates, tariffs after negotiating costs with truckers, warehouses and carriers
- Create final invoice to Client/Agent, close and archive files
- Other duties as requested
Required education:
- High school or equivalent- college preferred
- Fluent English spoken/written

Air Export Manager
- Strong knowledge of airline operation such as palletizing, ULD, GOH, DG handling, airline routing from the US to South East Asia, India/Pakistan, Middle East, China, Europe
- Quoting air rates to overseas agents
- Handle bookings from oversees agents, coordinate the move to destination
- Update shipment status with agent
- Respond in a timely manner to agent requests on shipment status by email and/or phone
- Negotiate rates for inland trucking
- Follow up on shipments to ensure proper timing
- Troubleshooting and problem solving
Follows TSA Regulations and has the ability to explain the regulations to customers/agents.
- Complete bookings, process all required documents AWB/B/L, D/O, Invoices, Filing AES
- Demonstrate solid decision-making skills and ability to prioritize ever-changing daily tasks
- Process final invoices accurately
- Perform any other related tasks as required as assigned
