Responsibilities and Duties
• Prepare customs documentation and ensure that shipments meet all applicable laws to facilitate the import and export of goods.
• Represent clients in meetings with customs officials and apply for duty refunds and tariff reclassifications. Coordinate transportation and storage of imported goods.
- Manage timely entry processing and documentation.
- Assist in new client on-boarding and regulatory inquiries.
- Assist Chinese merchants, exporters and shipping companies comply with Foreign Trade Zone rules and regulations.
- Provide necessary training and continuous guidance to the Exporter, Merchants and warehouse stuff.
- Arrange transport of goods and track cargo from end-to-end of shipment process
- Process freight charges
- Communicate with vendors, with government agencies, and US Customs.
- Classify commodities in accordance to laws and regulations
- Prepare and process import documentation
- Clear goods through Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) and US Customs
Qualifications and Skills
- Active Customs Broker License preferred
- Minimum 2 years of professional Customs Brokerage experience
- Foreign Trade Zone experience preferred
- Proficiency in classification and valuation
- Multi-tasking
- Detail-oriented
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese required
- Proficient in Excel
- Thorough knowledge of S. Customs tariff laws, import regulations, Prior Notice and ISF filings
